Spirals – 7.58am 25th March 2025

I looked at the spiral in this pumpkin plant and pondered. The spiral assists with being compact, space saving. As well, in space, the outer spiral of the galaxy protects the inner spiral section. In the pumpkin plant we can see that without the spiral, it would be a long exposed length, in the spiral, only part of the length is exposed from any angle.

The pumpkins main stem has to grow as a non spiral length and I noticed that it was the offshoot lengths that end which spiraled and the shorter offshoots opposite didn’t.

Plants are as interesting as everything else aren’t they?
