Nature – Wednesday 17th January 2024
I’ve been thinking about nature for a while and how we view it. We sometimes refer to it as ‘Mother Nature’ but what do we think it is and where did it come from?
I think most of us think of it as something that just is and attend to our daily lives which for many are most demanding.
Science sees physics here on Earth and physics beyond Earth. I think they see all as Nature? Not sure of that though. But I see a distinction between physics, and nature on Earth, though they are interactive. Nature here on Earth cannot exist in space.
Beyond this universe, what purpose would anything have for a particular solar system and Earth or Earth-like planets to exist in it.
Earth has inhabitants that had to be endowed with instincts to survive, before they could evolve their intelligence. Which in a way is like a self driving vehicle, before it could be manually driven by its occupant.
And we all are endowed with the ability to heal from certain wounds which is really quite remarkable, though we are just accustomed to it as ‘nature’.
We have this micro driven format, always at the ready to step in when we are presented with a threat, be it medical, physical or another person/animal which threatens us.
Without this micro-driven feature we wouldn’t survive. So how did we all get this feature, including all life here on Earth, and how was it known we’d need it?
Why would some all knowing entity beyond our universe devise this planet to exist and create this quantum platform we call ‘nature’ investing billions of years just on this planet alone (for the time it takes for the planet, it’s atmosphere, oceans etcetera all to form and then for life to occur in a seemingly micro-managed order)?
Which leads me to see nature as not only something of incomparable beauty, but the creation by the genius of the ‘molecular world’ and in the case of this planet and it’s solar system, we are being shown this.
If I was inside our Sun, in a molecular state and conscious, it would be my hope that the people of Earth would evolve to love and protect their planet and not to pillage its resources, thereby depriving future generations, by grasping as much as they can in as short a space of time, as we seem to be currently engrossed in doing.
When we know the supermarket is going to have shortages, panic buying occurs.
Depleting the planet’s resources because we are in a race, country against country, corporation against corporation, CEO against CEO is the extreme version of this.
People feel helpless to curtail the powerful… they are so busy, attending to their responsibilities, trying to make ends meet, but there has to be some restraint because there won’t be anything left for the future.
And if that isn’t sufficient reason, then the planet itself won’t cope, the climate and environment isn’t coping and still the race persists.
Nature is vast and strong but it can be killed.
Restraint. It is imperative.
