On the ABC news this afternoon was a story about the possibility of mining taking place on our moon. Though it’s merely an idea at this moment in time, it needs to be removed from ‘the list of possibilities’.
Our moon was always intended for the function it performs and was provided only that which it needed to perform that function, including the support of it’s internal workings. There would be minimal surplus, if any, which is why the moon behaves the way it does, there is no need for the moon to behave like a planet.
We should never view Earths’ moon as our reserve tank.
