Because I disagree with the Relativity theory, I naturally have a differing view of matters.

When it comes to the light from an AGNs jet, I view these factors as determining the brightness; the distance, it’s size, it’s speed, it’s density and the possibility that it is being seen/lensed through one or more fields of gravity. When the jet is facing towards Earth, then you are looking down it’s entire beam where its light is most condensed, as opposed to seeing a beam side on with its light diluted. Much like a torch shining directly at you or shining away from you.
