Kuiper Belt – Ultima Thule / Arrokoth – Wednesday 13th 2023

Dated yesterday’s date is an article regarding the above and the mission looking at this region of our solar system.

Described is the formation of Ultima Thule/ Arrokoth from the imaging.

I would like to put forward my thoughts on the image.

It doesn’t looked formed in pebbles or pieces to me. I see large dents from impacts. I would expect impacts that could dent like that, should also have shattered the area impacted if it were formed that way, ie coalesced pebble like portions. Instead there are large dents. But also, when struck by objects softer than itself, then what appears to be cobbling is quite possibly the rendering of the softer objects, ie large solid dirt type objects of various shapes that would have also struck and very hard I would think. To my eye it’s the softer material mottling like pieces of render upon Ultima Thule, not coalesced cobbling.
