Cooling – Planets Moons – Friday 6th September 2024
The cooling is, I believe, necessary. Volcanism is the method of utilizing material and then expelling the waste (magma) to the surface (which has its own use on a planet like Earth). The magma is got rid of just as we would remove ash from the fireplace. It can’t be reused, and it can’t be left there to get in the way of the continuing process that we call volcanism. Our moon doesn’t need to create more volcanic activity than it requires. Earth on the other hand has to maintain many processes and the core has to also increase its size as the planet slowly grows at the surface layering, hence more magma output. The core, whether planet or moon, where volcanism is ongoing would indicate that it’s utilizing material. The moon needs very little activity.
Although we look at planets with a view to surface life, planets wouldn’t from a molecular perspective. There is molecular interactions going on within solar systems like this system and the star is providing energy, the earth provides energy to the moon and in return the moon provides a service to Earth. Cooling is nature’s course it seems, the chill of space, there isn’t any need seemingly for the inner to warm the outer and it would require much additional energy to do so and without any real purpose that I can see.
The inner furnace then just needs to maintain that amount of area that assists to hold the heat in and that which keeps the furnace at a continual steady pace so that exertions are always catered for. It seems a very thorough and detailed maintenance system to me, adjusting as needed to the exact requirements in regards to Earth for example.
So when we see other planets, moons that appear inactive and lifeless, I’ve come to see them as molecular furnaces within and quietly conserving energy. Cool on the outside.
