Advanced Civilisations – Saturday 9th September 2023
In regard to advanced civilisations on other planets; my thoughts are going to be a wet blanket, so you may want to read no further….
A truly advanced civilisation would not waste precious resources searching for life elsewhere. It’s goal would be promoting their planets life span as well as their own. They would already know if life existed elsewhere, but I rather doubt they would see any benefits in being involved with them other than to wish them well.
An advanced civilisation would frown on our behaviour on this planet and would steer clear.
An advanced civilisation would treat it’s animals respectfully and with caring. It would treat each other intelligently and respectfully. The fortunate would not prey on the less fortunate. Harmony would be key and all beings would have equal opportunity, not in words but in actual truth. When fairness abounds, crime is miniscule.
A happy, healthy civilisation, doesn’t delight in abusing its disabled members. I could go on, but I should think that the above is sufficient to give thought to.
Has anyone truly considered what we would do to a craft of beings if they actually came to this planet? What we think we would do, altruistically, is very far away from what we would actually do and any such craft would be frantic to leave. We have a long way to go before we could class ourselves as ready to communicate with advanced life, outside of this planet.
We have only been capable, technologically, for a very brief window of time, the chance that we could find a civilisation at that same exact time frame is unlikely.
Further, I am fairly certain that planets that support life; that life must have a purpose that benefits their planet in return.
The design doesn’t suggest to me that we are the superior form and that planets exist only for our pleasure and quest for resources.
When we can attend to the above and correct our behaviour we can then consider ourselves a success. When we can cease the greedy grasping and pushing those out of our way to grab at what doesn’t belong to us and be so pleased that we have each other…..
