Mars: Craft to investigate ground at depth.
On the news was a story of a craft going to Mars which is intended to dig deep down into Mars’ depths. The logistics of this will be quite a feat.
My first thought was to check what information was available as to Mars’ most recent volcanic activity that we were aware of. Although Mars’ volcanic activity would be minimal, it would be ideal if this craft could get nearby to an active volcano.
Mars is in a weakened state. Its core, in a sense, is in a form of suspension. The core is performing that which is necessary only. Mars is not producing or supporting life. Has no oceans to contend with or maintain. There could be some water beneath the surface but nothing the planet has to manage as such. Aside from what happened to/with Mars, its mass will be much like Earths’ and this mission will provide much insight to its past and present.
Volcanoes seem haphazardly placed but they aren’t in fact and hopefully we may be able to achieve the testing to provide evidence of this in the not too distant future. Volcanoes have planetary purposes and depending on the purpose of a specific volcano is what determines its placement. The determining factors are far beneath the surface.
This Nasa mission will certainly be remarkable.
