Gobekli Tepe – Friday 8th December 2023

Just tonight I happened upon an article talking about Gobleki Tepe.

A thought came to me in regard to the circles with the  large stones, some of them being carved.

Might it be possible that these circles were actually pits with the large stones reinforcing the outer edges to prevent collapse? Which may have been used to hold lions for fighting (and possibly eating enemies) but primarily for fighting. Because the only way to hold a lion back then, would have been a pit it couldn’t escape from. These would have been very tough men I would think. I just wanted to put that possibility out there and it would explain why they had a number of these circular structures.
